Why clubs give up on merch

Three things that kill it every time.

01

The size guess

Someone has to decide how many smalls, mediums and larges to order. Get it wrong and the club wears the cost, usually in 3XL.

02

The upfront cheque

A bulk run means fronting money before a single item has sold. That's a committee decision, a vote, and a lot of pressure on whoever pushed for it.

03

The leftover box

Whatever doesn't move ends up in a volunteer's garage, gets dragged to two more seasons of home games, then quietly given away.

A store page removes all three.

Getting set up

Three moves from you.

That's the whole commitment. Everything after this sits with us.

01

Send us your logo

Any format you've got. If it's an old JPEG off a 2011 flyer, our designer will redraw it so it prints and stitches properly, or build you something new from scratch. Design fees may apply.

02

Set your margin

Tell us what the club should make on each item. We build it into the retail price. We'll tell you straight if it's going to push the price past what your members will actually pay.

03

Share the link

Post it in the team group chat, put it on the club Facebook page, print a QR code for the canteen. That's the last job on your list.

From there, we handle

  • Digitising artwork and print approvals
  • Building and hosting the store page
  • Product photography and listings
  • Decorating every order as it comes in
  • Packing, shipping and tracking
  • Sizing questions and enquiries
  • Tracking the balance
  • Paying you out on request

The range

What you can put a logo on.

Pick as much or as little as you want in your store. Most clubs start with three or four items and add to it once they see what sells.

The numbers

You set the margin. We build it into the price.

Move the sliders to see what a season looks like for your club.

What the club earns on every single sale.

A hoodie for half the side, a few tees for supporters — it adds up quicker than people expect.

Who this is for

If people wear your logo, this works.

A store page doesn't care what your club does. It runs the same for a netball side, a school fete, a race team or a crew of sparkies.

Before you ask

Questions committees ask

What does it cost to set up?

Nothing. No setup fee (Embroidery digitising fee may apply), no listing fee, no monthly charge. If you already have usable artwork we'll get you listed at no cost. If you need a logo or a full range designed from scratch, our designer can quote that separately.

Do we have to buy stock up front?

No. Everything is made once the order comes in, so the club never buys stock, never guesses sizes, and never ends up with a box of unsold gear.

Who sets the prices?

You do, in effect. You tell us what the club wants to make on each item and we add that to our wholesale price. We'll tell you straight if a margin is going to push the price past what your members will actually pay.

How and when does the club get paid?

Your balance builds as members order. We pay it out by bank transfer straight to the club account, either once it's worth transferring, or whenever you ask.

You are also able to use the balance to place orders directly.

We don't have a logo or decent artwork.

That's fine, and it's a big part of what we do. We can design a logo or a full range from scratch, or clean up an old file so it's sharp enough to print and stitch properly. Design fees may apply.

Can we still do a bulk order for the team?

Yes. The store runs alongside normal bulk orders. Most clubs kit out the playing group with a bulk run, then leave the store up for supporters, families and anyone who joins mid-season.

Can we sell at games and events?

Absolutely. Order a bulk run to sell on the day and keep the store page live for everyone who missed out or wanted a different size.

What if a member has a problem with their order?

They deal with us, not with you. Tracking, sizing questions and any reprints come to Sharp Apparel directly, so it never becomes a volunteer's job.

Do you ship to regional areas?

Yes, New Zealand and Australia-wide, every order tracked. Regional and remote deliveries take a little longer, and that's made clear at checkout so members know what to expect.

How long until our store is live?

Once we have usable artwork and know which garments you want, it's normally a short turnaround. Get in touch and we'll give you a realistic date for your range rather than a generic promise.

What if we want to stop?

Tell us and we'll take the page down. No lock-in contract, no exit fee, and the artwork stays yours throughout.

Tell us about your club

We'll come back with what your range could look like, what it'd retail for, and what the club would make. No obligation, no sales pressure.

We'll only use these details to talk to you about your store.

Still thinking about it?

Send us your logo and we'll mock up a couple of items so you can see the range before you commit to anything.
